Seniors! Filling the FAFSA is an important part of preparing for college. Get free, expert help at Horizonte’s FAFSA Completion Open House on Thursday April 28^th from 5:30-7:30 pm in room 420.  The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required to attend most colleges. It serves as the application for most of the financial aid from federal and state programs and from colleges and universities. Even if you are not sure that you will need financial aid, we recommend that you fill out a FAFSA anyway -- it's free.

Dear Students and Families,

Horizonte Graduation will be on June 3rd at the Huntsman Center at the University of Utah. The ceremony will start at 9:30am. More information about caps and gowns distribution to come soon. 

We will host a Job Fair at Horizonte on March 22nd. We invite students, parents and community to join us for this event. It starts at 5:30 during the Parent/Teacher conferences. Please come and meet our wonderful business partners and schedule and interview for a job. They offer full time, part time and seasonal jobs available. Our partners are: Megaplex, Lagoon, Spherion Staffing, UTA, Department of Workforce Services, Elwood, Hilton, Sheraton, and many more. 

There will be no school on Friday, March 4th. Enjoy your long weekend and we will see you back at school on Monday, March 7th. 

Horizonte 11th grade students!  You will take the ACT on March 8.  Please pre-register for this test during one of the following times:

• Friday, Feb. 25, and Monday, Feb. 28 (in room 511)
  • 8am - 8:45am
  • 12pm - 12:45pm
  • 2:15pm - 3:45pm
• Tuesday, March 1 (in room 420)

Presidents' Day is a federal holiday celebrated on the third Monday in February; Presidents' Day 2022 will occur on Monday, February 21. Originally established in 1885 in recognition of President George Washington, the holiday became popularly known as Presidents' Day after it was moved as part of 1971’s Uniform Monday Holiday Act, an attempt to create more three-day weekends for the nation’s workers. While several states still have individual holidays honoring the birthdays of Washington, Abraham Lincoln and other figures, Presidents' Day is now popularly viewed as a day to celebrate all U.S. presidents, past and present.
