Mission Statement

The mission of the Horizonte Scholarship Fund remains what it was when we first formed it 30 years ago, to provide scholarships for youth and adult students graduating from the Horizonte educational system in downtown Salt Lake City.  The students in the Horizonte system are largely disadvantaged people who need our help to make the transition to a college education. Your contributions will go directly to Horizonte students, changing their lives by helping them pay for college.  

Horizonte Scholarship Fund Accomplishments 2024

• Fifty-five Horizonte Scholarships were awarded in the Fall semester, 2024. This is the largest single group ever awarded in the 30-year history of the program. 
• Scholarship money awarded for the academic year 2024-25 will total over $100,000.
• A global 5-year view shows 40 Horizonte Scholarship awardees attained Associate Degrees, 57 completed professional training certifications & 96 are currently supported.  

Other Facts about the Horizonte Scholarship Fund

• The fund provides scholarships for at-risk graduating high school and adult Horizonte students to attend Salt Lake Community College.
• 100% of your donation goes to student scholarships (there are no administration fees as all the supporting cast are volunteers).
• Both Associate degrees & certificate programs at SL Community College are supported.
• Your contribution is tax-deductible!
