Welcome Tracy Sjostrom, our new Principal

We are excited to welcome our new principal at Horizonte. Her name is Tracy Sjostrom. Here is a little bit about her. 

She has worked in public education for over 27 years as a teacher, specialist, coach, AP, principal, and director. Most of her background is secondary with a focus on alternative ed, behavior, transition, and special education. She taught self-contained units in SLCSD and for the YIC/Granite YESS program in Granite District. Most recently, she was principal of Mary W. Jackson Elementary and principal of the alternative high school in Park City where she also served as special education director. 

She grew up outside of Chicago and went to UCLA for college. Shortly thereafter, she worked in the television business, and then shifted careers to education. She enjoys the outdoors, travel, acting and Peloton. She believes it is important to have fun and laugh every day.
